Algoma Tankers are their own agents according to Halifax Daily Status Report, as far as their bulkers, the Halifax Daily status report gave Kent Lines as their agents. This was for The Algoma Spirit when she arrived under a foreign flag. Other ports give SMT as agents for some of the Algoma and ULS bulkers.

Yes they owned Guard Mavoline. It was a converted RN naval vessel, built as a "Dance" class or "Tree" class trawler. It ended up in Mexico, renamed as Superior.

Thanks Jim
The Kent Line agent thing is a bit odd (Irving tugs are the only tugs in Halifax these days) but I guess Algoma does not have regular agents in Halifax. Kent Line would have been their agents when they went to Saint John with salt when Sauniere was running. Algoma Tankers would likely use Kent Line as agents too.
To get back to this topic, Victorian Marie belonged to Euclide Bouchard, but when he folded ownership passed to d'Auteuil Lumber Co (which was owned by Irving) before going to Chargeurs Unis(Desganes) and becoming Blanc Sablon.

The Ghislain photo is dated 1969, and there are leaves on the trees. The Blanc Sablon is dated Sept. 27, 1970.

I would be very interested in learning the dates of the photos. Ghislain was disabled in a storm off Bermuda in March 1969, returned to Dartmouth, NS for drydocking in April/ May. By August she was laid up in Quebec, then sold. She returned to Halifax January 10, 1970, and had been renamed Anik by the end of the month. So the photo must have been in June or July 1969.
Blanc Sablon only became Blanc Sablon on September 23, 1970, so the photo must have been taken that autumn, or in a later year.

I have photos of two goelette or coastal type freighters, photos taken by Alfred Sagon-King in the Welland Canal in 1969 and 1970. The vessels are the Ghislain and the Blanc Sablon. Can anyone give me information about either or both?
