The handling characteristics of every vessel is posted in the pilot house.

Could also be that the Pilot decided to anchor, not knowing the ship's capabilities?

Capt - There is a huge difference between the Lakes and Oceans, namely how the seas run. On the ocean, 18-20 foot waves might be a hundred yards or more apart, while on the Lakes they might be 1/4 that distance.

If the polish vessel cannot face a gale on lake Huron I wonder what is happening in a storm on the ocean. These ships are built to face that kind of weather and worst, who says it has to be confortable.

I would not want to be on that Polsteam ship, given how high she is riding, and the weather that is hitting the lakes.

Looks like ships are anchored all over because of the weather. Looks like a few near Port Huron. Looks like more above Soo, between Soo & Whitefish. Then maybe at Duluth too. Am I seeing that right?
