I think the Mark Barker is planned to begin service sometime during the summer, but that could change. While she looks complete on the outside I think there is still work to complete on the inside. Then she will need some sea trials.
The Lee Tregurtha didn’t start right away in 2020 and 2021 either. It wouldn’t surprise me if she sits for a month or two at the start of the season. The Mark Barker is designed for accessing ports along rivers and will likely be carrying salt and other specialized cargos that the Dorothy Ann/Pathfinder is currently carrying. I don’t see the Barker replacing the Tregurtha at this time. But she could put the Pathfinder out of service.

Isn’t the new mark baker fitting out this spring? I wonder if this is the reason for the lee a tregurtha not having a fitting out date yet or if the ship will sail at all this year!
