We were out watching the SBR and Tracer. It was windy but not too bad. The SBR seemed to be moving back and forth a lot in Lock 5. Might the Seaway have kept max length ships out due to wind direction?

Certain vessels, particularly the larger ones with large windage areas such as the Discovery, are restricted from operating in the canal when wind speeds reach a certain speed (it varies by ship - one foreign tanker, I don't remember which, is prohibited from the Canal when wind exceeds 22 knots) so that's probably the case.

She's bound for Thunder Bay. Anchored off Port Weller for weather, I assume.

Under the category of "who knows what will happen". Algoma Discovery has joined Clipper Mari and Clipper Lancer in the Port Weller anchorage. Seaway shows Discovery as Delayed at 08:31.

Port of Hamilton's website must have made an error as it shows
her as departing at 0530 on the 28th for Port Cartier, Quebec.
Also, the Guardian has an ETA of 0900 on the 29th for Hamilton.

This morning she is approaching Port Weller. Looks like she'll be going thru the Welland Canal, at least she's on the schedule for all the locks. Lock 1 at 09:41. Lock 8 at 18:58.

She's been doing repairs since early yesterday morning after finishing unloading at Dofasco. Repairs are complete, but she will spend the night in Hamilton due to high winds, departing tomorrow morning. Destination will either be the upper lakes or will clean holds and load grain in Hamilton. i don't know either way at this point.

I see via the AIS that Algoma Discovery has arrived in Hamilton. What is her next destination?
