The vessel was recently sold and a new crew took over. This is why the registry was changed to Cyprus’s

Puna entered Cypriot registration 1 May 2024. On 1 August 2019 it entered, on the same day, German then Liberian registry, probably reflecting transfer to German "ownership" through financing but immediate reflagging to Liberia. I note it is having its classification society changed from Det Norske Veritas to Nippon Kaiji Kyokai, the process begun on 29 May 2024. I also note it had an "expanded" inspection at Thunder Bay that revealed 25 deficiencies which may be delaying its acceptance by NKK. The vessel became the property of Kozmo Shipping, Ltd., Limassol, 27 May 2024, with Canfornav, Ltd., also Limassol, its manager. Kozmo, of course, is a Canfornav entity.

Saw the Saltwater Vessel Puna while downbound on the St. Clair River on the Live Web Cams on June 22, 2024 from Port Huron. It would seem obvious from the videos, they are now Cyprus flagged and registered and NOT Liberian flagged or registered as it was once previously. Not sure of its hull color but, it appears it still has either a deep dark blue or else a black hull color. The flag of registration on the Puna’s stern appeared to be mostly in white indicating that indeed the vessel is now Cyprus flagged and registered for now. However, it gets a bit confusing as I’ll explain how and why. First off, on the Seaway’s website they are still showing the Puna as being of Liberian registration and flag which of course is definitely NOT true by no means! Just do a search of this ship on Marine Traffic, Vessel Tracker and other sites and you’ll see what I’m referring to! Second point and last, on Marine Traffic they show a photo of the Puna in I think 2024 maybe? The point is, it appears and looks to me IMO that its hull color is Green? Again this obviously is not true as the Puna has not changed its original hull color. So, I’m wondering then IF the Puna was of Cyprus flag and registry when it first came inland and visited back in April 2024 and yet maybe the Seaway and their website has not yet updated the flag and registry change? Anyone that knows or has further information on this and can share and provide would be very much and greatly appreciated. Thanks. The information is for my record keeping!

Saltwater Vessel Puna Questions

Noticed recently on both Marine Traffic website and also on Vessel Tracker, that the Saltwater Vessel Puna is now registered from Cyprus. This I believe is their 2nd inland voyage and trip into the Great Lakes this year. Their first inland trip and visit was in April of this year. My questions regarding this vessel, first off When was it that the Puna, changed its registry to Cyprus? I ask because as the Puna, this vessel was once registered from Liberia at one time and I would appreciate any information as to when they were re-flagged from Liberia to Cyprus. In 2023 when they visited then and made inland voyages, they were flagged and registered from Liberia then. My next question would be this, Was the Puna flagged and registered from Liberia on its first inland voyage in 2024 back in April? I cannot find any photos or information presently as far as exactly when the Puna was re-flagged and registered. If anyone has any information that they can provide and to share on this, it would be very much appreciated. Thank You for your help and anything you may have and can provide.
