The barker doesn't have a whistle, its an air "horn" the alpena and badger both have steam horns. The steam sidepaddle ferry in Toronto has a steam whistle as does the segwun on lake Muskoka. If you really want to wet your whistle have a steam whistle beer. At the steam whistle brewery in Toronto they have a real steam whistle that sounds on the hour during open hours. And yes they use real steam not compressed air. FYI

If you collect and save the Know Your Ships books, I believe there is a story about them in the 2022 edition of the book along with a picture and story of the Captain of the Barker Brad Newland. Hope this helps.
