John D Leitch spent most of Thursday Oct. 10 moored at the cement plant dock in Clarkson. Nothing out of the ordinary was visible and she had unloaded. Just now checked AIS map. She is underway across to the Welland @ 11kts with a destination of Toledo for Oct. 12 at 1100 hrs.

The J D Leitch has been moored in Clarkson at the cement plant dock for near on 15 hrs today ( Oct. 9)according to her AIS. I am writing this after midnight on the 9th.
That is more than a routine load/ unload time for her. She is a favorite of mine from her early, early days with Upper Lakes Shipping. I was meaning to go look at her today all day but got doing other things.
I mention this as I’m wondering if the unloading problems and repairs a few days ago or other issues may be plaguing her since what I think was a sudden release from what could have been her final layup only about a month and a bit ago.
Any other fans of the JD Leitch out there know anything? If she’s still here Thursday I will go for a look see...just a mile away from me!

Just curious. The Leitch has been sitting at or near the IMS dock at Port Colbourne for a number of days now. Does anyone know what's going on? I hope I'm wrong, but I've got this queer feeling that the boat may be finished and already sold for scrap. Hope I'm wrong. I always liked that boat. Any factual comeback would be appreciated.
