It unloaded at the Medusa facility on Goose Island, west channel, just south of Division. This site is pretty far up the North Branch with, as I recall, fourteen bridges between there and the lake. The unloading site moved to the Calumet in 1979. Bringing the John L. A. Galster to the facility wasn't particularly difficult; bringing the Medusa Challenger there was. Here it is approaching Wolf Point where it will turn north and enter the North Branch. The difficulty navigating the river and bridges is obvious, despite the long lens image.

Where on the Chicago River did Medusa Challenger unload before the switch to the Calumet River?
