Hey Steamboater, what Soo Cams are you referring may I ask that are down from what you said in your post as I can access them on You Tube with no problem at least the last time I checked on them a while back. I just go to You Tube then I enter “Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan into the Search Box or St. Clair River cams and usually this works just fine for me then.” Also, I see and hear your viewpoints loud and clear about the ships being at anchor and the winds also blowing as well. Indeed the last day of November today and The Gales of November are making their presence be known and felt all across the Great Lakes! I wonder then how high the wave heights are out on the open lakes as well? Safe travels to all the ships and their captains along with their crews right now. May God be with them and also Guard, Guide, Keep and Protect them from danger!

Yup winter sailing sucks for the deck dept. 45 winters for me before retiring

Since the Sault lock cams are down due to construction I guess; I tend to look at AIS 2-3 times a day.
Noticed on Saturday a.m. guitar a flock of vessels hunkered down in Whitefish Bay Golais/pancake Bay. Marine weather is showing West winds steady 20-25 kts. Nobody is on the open water. Temperatures would be cold enough to make snow squalls very possible...”the gales of November”...remembered I’m sure!
