Algoma Endeavour & John D. Leitch Updates

I've been checking on status each day and also looking at weather, as it appears there's been strong winds crossing through the strait each day, so my guess is at anchor due to weather.
We'll see when she gets moving again.
I did see Latimer is on the move, after loading in Petroleum Coke in Davant, Louisiana (Mississippi River, south of New Orleans).
Next destination is Port Daniel, Quebec, which I believe is the cement plant there on S. side of the lower St. Lawrence, near the Gulf.

The Algoma Endeavour departed the Garrucha, Spain Anchorage on March 13 and have been at the Ceuta Anchorage since March 15. Any information or updates on what’s going on with them? Thanks for any information in advance.

From Gibraltar to Cabot strait (entrance of gulf of st Laurent) 12 days or so for a slow ship then a bit more than 2 1/2 days to Montréal so Montreal before April unless delays in loading or long period of bad weather

Thanks for that info and update Guest. Glad to see and hear that she may be fitting out this season. I saw them once last year on the St. Clair River in November and I kept thinking “Could 2024 be her last and final season then sailing?” Hope to see her then in 2025 sometime if she does sail and I definitely can’t wait to see the new Algoma Endeavour sometime in 2025 then!

There is a mariner on Facebook who has posted videos from onboard the Leitch this month. There is quite a bit of work going on with her and it appears she is fitting out.

For anyone interested in her delivery and maiden voyage from Croatia, they left the Garrucha, Spain Anchorage on March 13 after arriving at anchor then on March 12. They arrived in port at Garrucha, Spain on March 11 if I’m correct,departed that I think on March 12 and went to anchor the same day then off of Garrucha, Spain. Sorry if I don’t have any of this information correct then on them. They are now due at Ceuta, Spain on March 14 per their AIS. I don’t know if they fueled or loaded stability cargo in Garrucha, Spain before their voyage across the Atlantic Ocean? Their next stop is in Ceuta, Spain so I don’t know if this will be to fuel or to load cargo for stability before they cross the Atlantic for Canada? How long it will take them to make the trip then from Croatia to Canada? I don’t think this is quite as long of a trip if it was had they been built in China like some of the other Equinox Class ships. I figure they will probably arrive in Canada sometime the latter half of April maybe and begin trading here in the Great Lakes in late April or sometime in May then? With the Algoma Endeavour now on its way here to Canada and this was talked about last year, what does this hold then as far as the future goes for the John D. Leitch? Will she sail at all in 2025 or is she finished with the new Algoma Endeavour arriving soon? I thought that I had read last year that once they arrive, the Algoma Endeavour eventually will be the replacement for the John D. Leitch! I suppose this is still true but just curious if Algoma still plans on using and sailing the John D. Leitch in 2025? Thanks for any type of information you may have.
