Did some further research and it appears (for now Canada) is not charging tariffs on scrap iron and steel. I guess that would include an old ore boat.

She’s a Canadian-owned and Canadian-flagged ship sold to a Canadian scrapyard

So the end is near - a couple of weeks and she'll be gone.

I wonder what (if any) impact Canadian tariffs had on the price Rand got for her. Perhaps they had to pay to have her scrapped.
