Survival suits only used during drills and abandon ship emergencies. Crew all has appropriate cold weather PPE. Unfortunately going on deck is required for tying up, loading and unloading the boat in any weather. De-icing and snow removal is done in preparation for these jobs. The cabins are heated internally and are always warm inside.

What's it like out on the lakes in this extremely cold weather? Are survival suits required on deck? Do you even go on deck? I would imagine the boats are cold even inside.
