The sykes had steam up yesterday when I went by but they didn’t have the drydock filled with water yet.

Saw a friend today off the Sykes who said most of the deck crew was sent home and he is currently scheduled to return on the 29th of this month at Frasers

It is rumored that the Sykes was damaged while docking at the Drummond Island stone dock.

The information you’re looking I think can be found by looking in the area that says “Noteworthy Passages” here on Boatnerd. Hope this information has helped.

She received hull damage in a grounding at or near Drummond Island.

I don’t know if they are simply repairing the damage or using this as an opportunity to also complete her 5-year inspection (which I believe was due this coming winter).

I see on Marinetraffic that the Wilfred Sykes appears to be in the dry dock at Fraser Shipyards in Superior. Looks like its last AIS position update was back on June 6, 2026. I don't recall seeing anything about the ship having any problems or damage, so is it in for an inspection or did I miss something?
