Re: Sandusky Coal Shipments

Sandusky is still very active as far as outbound coal shipments. In checking my records, it appears that CSL & Interlake ships have loaded from the Coal Dock quite often this year and at times VanEnkevort has as well. Algoma I think has loaded there as well this year. The outbound coal loads varies as far as the destinations. They go to Nanticoke or Hamilton along with Monroe to the DTE Plant there and up to Detroit at the Rouge Shortcut Canal Dock on Zug Island. Sandusky also gets a few salt deliveries by vessel sometimes as well. As for the future of Sandusky, it is hard to say at this point as far as shipping goes? I suppose you will continue to see some salt cargoes delivered there by ship. As far as coal loadings, that’s hard to say with the demand for coal decreasing. I guess we will just have to wait and see. Hope my information though has helped you out on what you were looking for.
