As mentioned, I don’t believe too she will ever sail again as she would probably first need a 5-year CG Drydocking & Survey done on her first. I would think one of her biggest issues is “lack of a self-unloading boom!” IF she were to ever be converted it would be a huge project and I thought I’ve read and heard here by many that she would need to have her cargo hold reconfigured and that would lower her carrying capacity then at that point. A lot of money and dollars that would need to be put into her and invested in her. Would I like to see her return to service then someday at that point? Sure and absolutely as who wouldn’t want to see this classic ship and real beauty of a laker return to service someday. However, the truth and facts are I think that in today’s market there just isn’t a place for her at this time. The same can be said and hold true for the Sherwin as well along with the Anderson and the Clarke. I love the old classic lakers but, times have changed and still continue yet today along with the economics and the industry in general as a whole. At least we will always remember and cherish the memories of the “Good ‘Ole Days then!”

Hey yall, I was wondering if anyone had any updates on the Ryerson? I know a while ago her ais was turned back on for a little bit then turned back off. I know the trades are down all the way around, but do you guys think she will ever sail again?
Thanks!
