I too show 77 new salties. So far November was the busiest with 17 which beat out 13 from August.

Looks like another new comer to our list of saltwater vessels.
According to the Port of Montreal's website, expected to arrive
on 12/10 for Milwaukee is the Hermann Schoening of Liberian flag.
She is a twin and sistership to the Luebbert also of Liberian flag.
I now show 76 salties that have "never been here before 2010!"
Is this a record for new comers does any know as I am curious?

The ex-Yugoslav/ACM triplets are registered Canadian and according to what I remember from ACM's press language have been refit for service as lakers. They've certainly been deployed as lakers so far. Perhaps if they go into a laker-style winter layup they could be retroactively stricken from saltie visitor lists. I suppose the same goes for CSL's ex Fednav-ers.
Desgagnes' three Beluga E/F-class vessels could definitely be considered salties on their final fall lakes trip, as each of them were reflagged overseas before or during the trip and loaded cargo for cross-ocean destinations and winter saltwater service. Not sure whether Umiavut's situation is similar. GLFL's situation has a little more grey area involved, again where and how they end up trading for the winter might help decide how to list them for this past season.

What gray area boats are you are referring to on your salty list? BTW, I can see where you would count the Great Lakes Feeder Lines, along with the ACM triplets and the old Fednav Vessels now sailing for CSL along with Transport Nanuk vessels as well for your salty list.

I've got a similar number of 234 salties so far. A half dozen or so are the gray area ships. Algoma triplets, "Beluga" Desgagnes, Great Lakes Feeder, and Transport Nanuk. Oh and I have CSL's old FedNavs in there too. I think some of those I'm going to drop from the salty count next year. Anybody have thoughts on these gray area boats?

As of Nov. 30th, I counted at least 221 salties and 75 new comers and 61 transits above IKE Lock for November. I've also counted the Desgagnes vessels as salties and the Umiavut and Avataq as well. Anyone else keeping track?
