I was wondering the same thing. Just checked the marine forecast and there are gale warnings up until this evening.

and overnight the waves are supposed to decrease even more to almost flat....Superior's moods sure can change in a hurry!

In looking at the AIS page, I can see the Speer, Great Republic and the American Century all at anchor off of Duluth/Superior. Don't know if it is weather related or if they are waiting on dock space at one of the Lake Superior ports. The Cort is at BNSF #5 loading and the American Spirit maybe is at the Duluth Fuel Dock.

Is the weather rough on Lake Superior? The only ship near an real open water is the Kaministiqua rounding Isle Royal. The James R. Barker is anchored off Bete Gris Bay. The St. Clair is also "under" the Eastern tip of the Keweenaw "moored." The Indiana Harbor is downbound not far from the two off Keweenaw Point southeast of Manitou Island, and there are a few vessels sitting in Whitefish Bay.
