Ah, let's not forget to that the Alpena still has a class steam horn and whistle as well. One of a few that still has a steam whistle. She is one of my favorites as well. Although not operating I still give the Ryerson and American Victory as a couple of true classics.

now that the Challenger is know longer a ship the best looking has to be the Alpena hands down.Kaye is nice but doen't come close to the Alpena.

After viewing several photo gallery's I have to cast my vote for the Kaye E. Barker as being best looking classic boat. Even her unloading gear is in scale with the rest of her.
