My recollection is that the Johnson's Point turn is made with full left rudder and an increase of power on both shafts at the point of turn to aid her swing. Both engines normally remain at the same power, although occasionally the starboard engine would be slowed to aid in steady on course 8. At least in my experience, the turn was always wide, and when steady we were always slightly east of the Point of Woods range.

When rounding Johnsons Point in the St Marys River, do the upbound footers power up due to the current in the river, or do the rev's remain about the same while making the turn ?
