Freighter Watching Locations

I was wondering if any of you would be so kind, as to disclose any of your viewing and your photo locations in the Milwaukee, Chicago and Gary areas to us. I am looking for somewhere closer to us to take my children, who are in their teens, for a day trip to see the freighters. Thank you so very much for your information.
