My deepest & sincere sympathy to the family of George M. Steinbrenner III.

I'm not quite sure how to balance my feelings on Mr. Steinbrenner's passing for ASC, baseball, Cleveland, Lorain, Tampa, and all else in George's stewardship of the family heritage & wealth. Industry, labor, individuals, families, and communities both prospered and were devastated in George's lifetime. I wish closure to all.

Regarding the genealogical info above, many thanks for correcting my post, Mr. George Steinbrenner, below. As soon as I posted it, I knew something was amiss. Again, thank you kindly.

Kinsman & the Steinbrenner's

Just to clarify from the news story posted on the death of George M. Steinbrenner III and his family: This man was the great grandson of Henry Steinbrenner, not the son of the founder of the Kinsman fleet in 1901. The problem is same named persons in this family down through the years:
George M. Steinbrenner III, born in 1930, was the son of Henry G. Steinbrenner born about 1906. Henry G. Steinbrenner was the son of George M. Steinbrenner II, born in 1880, who in turn was the son of Henry Steinbrenner, born 1849 and died 1929.
Henry Steinbrenner born in 1849 married Sophia Minch in 1876, the daughter of Philip J. Minch (1820-1887) and Anna C. Minch (1818-1905).
The Kinsman fleet was founded in 1901 by the first Henry Steinbrenner, and was always a fleet of only four to six ships for over 50 years, most of which were built for the company. In the 1950's and for the next 30 years the fleet expanded by buying older ships form other companies, and it grew to almost 20 ships in the 1970's under George M.Steinbrenner III. Through the 1990's until the end in 2004, the fleet decreased. Their is much that could be added, but to clarify a little of the history of Kinsman and the Steinbrenner's on the death of George M. Steinbrenner III.
