The conveyor belts run under the engine room and the boom is at the stern, separate from the ER. The engine room is very spacious.

Is it crowded in the Bloughs Engine room with the Conveyer system going through the Engine Room area?

The original engines installed on the Blough before the fire were in fact Pielsticks, identical to her current engines. But the Blough was not designed to have Pielsticks originally. She was supposed to have had a Fairbanks Morse, slow speed opposed piston diesel. It was an experimental engine. The first one built destroyed itself on the test stand, one was installed in a saltie, and after these problems USS changed it's plans and ordered the Pielsticks. I believe the engine originally intended for the Blough went to a Brazillian Power Plant.

I see in the News Page that it mentions the Blough and damage to her Pielstick engines from the fire. I was under the impression that the original engines were Nordbergs and they were damaged and replaced with Pielsticks.
