Thanks for the update Bookworm on the projects in Port Huron from Desmond Landing down to Marysville. So, that is what they are doing to the boat launch site in Marysville from what you described eh? I am sure it will be nice once it is finished and sort of like road construction projects, it is a mess while they are at it and working but when it gets done it is nice usually. I also saw the sign at Vantage Point yesterday that now says Desmond Landing and was surprised at that but, as you said that is all part of the changes. The riverwalk near Vantage Point is really nice and looks great as well. That whole entire area sure needed that done along time ago but, glad to see it coming to life and looks great. Thanks again for the update and keep up the good work on your photos and please keep posting them here for all to see.

Yes, there are major improvements being made along the river from Port Huron (Desmond Landing) to Marysville and beyond. From what I understand, Marysville has been awarded grants to improve the boat launch area, and remove/replace the crumbling seawall. It's a big undertaking and an inconvenience for now, but when its done, it will be a much better and more attractive site for boatnerds and fishermen/women. Another part of the plan is to provide spawning grounds for native fish species and filter run-off water before it enters the river, using grasses and other native plants.

Hi Bookworm, and may I add another round of spectacular photos at the river on Monday. Missed you a few times as I was also out there for the two tall ships the Nina and Pinta and took plenty of photos and all came out good. Saw most of the same boats that you got photos of as far as the afternoon and evening ones go. Was shocked and surprised though to see the boat launch site in Marysville messed up! Do you know or heard what they are doing with that and how long it will be messed up? What a shame that they are re-doing it or whatever it is they are doing to it as now us boatnerds can barely get into the launch site in Marysville. Surely in time they will probably have it fixed up and nice once it is finished. In the meantime, thanks for the photos and keep on clicking them with your camera. Like your photos very much.

Haven't been to the river in a few days, and, as you can see, the camera was really busy snapping passing ships/boats/vessels.
