Anyone have any bigger versions of those pictures (in the PDF) of the various spaces on the Montrealais, or know where I can find others like them. Been looking for pics like that for a while.

I agree, what a loss. All the talk about the Ryerson and all but I don't need the Art Deco look, the beautiful classic clean lines of the Canadien Vickers boats of the mid 60's era were a hallmark in Great Lakes shipping. Add in the facts that they weren't limited to iron ore/taconite like most of the American fleet, they were solid utility carriers. Saw her first as the Montrealer with Papachristidis and that sky blue stack marking in '62 as a kid and will miss her now, 3 fleets later.

Departed Duluth for what may be the last time under a spectacular clear sky and calm water. I only was able to watch it on the LSSMA's webcam, but it looked like a highly photogenic departure if this was the Montrealais's last trip to Duluth.

Re: Algoma Montrealais
The latest edition of the Algoma newsletter Bear Facts is now out and on the Algoma website and it states "Algoma Montrealais is to be retired at seasons end in 2014!" If anyone has not seen her and photographed her this season, you are running out of time and you had better do it soon. She doesn't have much longer left this season and if you miss her now, you may not see her again! Fortunately I was lucky and caught her once in Port Huron back in the summer in August. Will surely miss this classic laker as an end to an era draws to a close. She is the last steam powered ship on the Canadian side. I don't think there are any left on the Canadian side that will be operating on the lakes that are steam powered?

Re: Algoma Montrealais
Montrealais has reached Montreal. Her destination now shows as Clarkson without an ETA.

Algoma Montrealais
AIS shows Montreal as the Algoma Montrealais's current destination. Is the bad news, or are they going with/to get a load. Montreal hasn't been a destination for the Montrealais all year.
