Does anyone know if Jim Hoffman plans to sell at the Marine Mart, I always like his shots from Toledo.

How much does the Recreation Passport cost?
$11 - Michigan registered vehicles (exemptions listed below under "Specialty vehicles")
$5 - Michigan registered motorcycles
$31 - Non-Michigan annual pass
$9 - Non-Michigan daily pass
"Non-resident" means that your vehicle is registered in another state or province and it is not based on the driver's residency. This means that if a Michigan resident is driving a rental vehicle or someone else's vehicle with an out-of-state license plate, they'll need a nonresident daily or nonresident annual window sticker.

Michigan residents have to have a recreational passport or sticker, which runs $11.00 for a car ($5.00 for a motorcycle). But it is good for a year at all state parks.
Non-residents can buy a daily pass that runs $9.00, or a $31.00 annual pass good at all Michigan State Parks.
There is now a booth as you enter the park. If you have the passport, you just drive right through.
I believe entry if free for pedestrians and bicyclists. Not sure about bus service.

I imagine there is no prob. getting on to Belle isle, the casino is still there, plenty of weddings around the yr.
DNR probably has better control of the rental rates.
Would need a passport to get on though, which is good for the yr. at all st. parks.
