Believe "sand" is a pretty general description of her cargo - it is likely a sand made of some specific mineral not found locally that is used by a nearby industry. I'm fairly sure that Canfornav vessels regularly bring fluorspar / fluorite from Mexico to Windsor, perhaps that's what this was.

Chestnut delivered sand to Windsor. Where did she load this and what was the purpose of shipping it in from overseas?
