I did see the calumet bring in a load of coal for the BLP. she left at about 8 P.M, heading south. she could have been loading for grand haven again, as she was expected at the verplank dock somtime this week, but i didn't see her.

Calumet was down there. I was trying to figure out why it was at the steel mill after taking coal to Grand Haven.

That's whatI'd like to know. I'm guessing it was a lower lakes ship as it had a gray hull.
I'll guess it went to Mittal to pick up slag or something. Could it do that in two hours?
I was too far away for any details other than rear house, self unloader, gray hull.

Last night I witnessed a gray hulled, self-unloader with aft house leave the Calumet River, cross the harbor, and enter Mittal Steel in Indiana Harbor.
Several hours later the same, or a similarly configured ship left Mittal and headed north uo the lake.
I didn't see any movements listed for the river or Mittal that came close. Any ideas?
