It’s the Toledo Harbor Range Lights Crib and not a lighthouse. Entirely gone today, it was demolished 50+ years ago. JIM B made this post in 2011 for the Toledo Crib…”The crib range was located near where bouys 33 and 34 are now. From my 1901 Scotts Pilot the Manhattan ranges were only 6th order lights, so they may not have been visable for the entire channel length. The rear light was also the front light for the old channel which headed northerly towards Turtle Island from that point.” The lighthouse is on Turtle Island and provided the rear range light for the old Toledo shipping channel.

What lighthouse is that in the 1946 film around 5:16 or so? The one that lighthouse keeper is going out to.

Great footage. I think lifeboats are being phased out due to the fact that rafts and RDBs are able to do the roles much safer and easier. It's difficult to use a lifeboat on a good day let alone in a storm while the big boat is sinking.

Mr. Vaught does excellent aerial work, but every time I watch a video like this I can't help but notice how lifeboats have disappeared from almost all vessels these days.

Very nice, thanks for posting. For the drone footage, I wonder if the pilot needed permission to (especially from the Calumet ) for fly so close? Also very interesting to see how straight deckers are unloded.
