Re: Farewell Algomarine
Great pictures of the Algomarine on her final trip under her own power before she is layed up for the last time and retired. Its a shame her next trip will be at the end of a Ocean Tugs tow line to a overseas scrap yard. She sure looks good on the outside for a boat thats being retired. Im sure its a different story on the inside as she has always been a work horse for Algoma. Always one of the first out in the Spring and one of the last to lay up in the winter. I m sure her cargo holds are a mess from all her salt cargos she carried. In her later years of sailing id say shes had more salt cargos then her Stone,Slag, Grain and occasional Coal cargos that she would have between salt runs. Her engines are tired. Im glad the weather was so nice for your pictures you got of her for the last time. Thanks again for the great pictures Bookworm.

Farewell Algomarine
Captured these photos as she passed St. Clair this morning, loaded with salt and with a SeaWay destination.
